A bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi issued the direction after perusing the status report filed by former Maharashtra DGP Dattatray Padsalgikar, who is monitoring the investigations. The SC had appointed Padsalgikar on August 11, 2023, to supervise the probe by the CBI and state police in Manipur, and asked him to also “investigate the allegations that certain police officers colluded with perpetrators of violence (including sexual violence) during the conflict”. Hearing the Manipur violence-related matters on February 13, the SC had sought a fresh report on the status of the investigation. WFI chief says office at new address, facts show otherwise | Sports News

Today, responding to The Indian Express report, he told ANI that WFI still worked from 101, Hari Nagar. However, another visit to this address, on Saturday, shows otherwise. As The Indian Express reported Friday, the wrestling federation no longer operated from 101, Hari Nagar, the address mentioned under the ‘Contact’ head on its official website. Following Sports Ministry’s suspension of WFI in 2023, the sports body’s office had moved out of Singh’s Ashoka Road residence. Incidentally, two women wrestlers had alleged the incidents of inappropriate touch and groping occurred at Singh’s official MP residence that also doubled as WFI office. On Saturday, the one-room Hari Nagar office space was occupied by a property consultant who was busy doing his weekend chores — checking multiple electricity bills. Most tenants in the commercial building are his clients. Speaking on the condition that he not be named, he said he had moved to 101, Hari Nagar at Ashram Chowk in the first week of January. Before that, the first-floor space was vacant for many months, he said. “When …

Wrestling Federation of India office is back to its old address – home of sexual harassment accused Brij Bhushan Singh | Sport-others News

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) office is back to functioning at its old address — the long-time home of its former chief and five-time BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at 21, Ashoka Road. Though Singh didn’t contest last year’s Lok Sabha elections amid accusations of sexual harassment by some of the country’s top women wrestlers against him, he continues to live here when in New Delhi. His son Karan Bhushan Singh was elected from the family seat of Kaiserganj in Uttar Pradesh. Even as the sexual harassment trial against Singh goes on in a Delhi court and charges against him have been framed, the WFI, it is evident, hasn’t snapped ties with the politician-turned-sports administrator. This, despite the Sports Ministry, while suspending WFI in December 2023, mentioning that running the federation from within “premises controlled by former officer bearers” was one of the reasons for their action. Also, according to a Delhi Police chargesheet, two wrestlers had alleged that incidents of inappropriate touch and groping occurred at the WFI office located at Singh’s …

Any threat to Sanatan Dharma threat to humanity: Adityanath in Ayodhya | Lucknow News

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Thursday that Sanatan Dharma is the only true religion and any threat to it is a threat to humanity as a whole. Addressing the Ashok Singhal Veda Award-2024 ceremony in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister praised the “contributions” of Singhal, former working president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), to Sanatan Dharma “as a preacher of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh”. If Sanatan Dharma remains on the path of safety and prosperity, it will pave the way for the betterment of the humanity, he asserted. Singhal, he said, received an engineering degree from the Banaras Hindu University, but his life was dedicated to Sanatan Dharma. “The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement and Ashok Singhal were complementary to each other. The impact of his contributions to the movement was evident on January 22, 2024, when the most significant event of this century took place. On that day, Lord Shri Ram was enthroned in the magnificent temple by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Results follow when the dedication is genuine,” Adityanath added. Ram Lalla’s consecration …

Hooliganism, anarchy and violating women are SP’s only hallmarks: Adityanath | Lucknow News

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleged on Thursday that the misdeeds of the Samajwadi Party were well known and that hooliganism, anarchy, violating women and endangering the safety of traders were its only hallmarks when the party was in power in Uttar Pradesh. “Samajwadi Party ki topi laal, lekin kaarname kaale hain (SP leaders wear red caps but commit evil deeds). Their public image is a facade, hiding their true nature. It is because of them that the people of Sisamau are now facing by-election,” the CM said addressing a public meeting at a government college in the Sisamau Assembly constituency of Kanpur district which is scheduled to go to the bypolls soon. The seat fell vacant after SP MLA Irfan Solanki was disqualified from the Assembly following his conviction in a criminal case. In Ayodhya, an SP leader raped a ‘Nishad daughter,’ but instead of addressing the issue, their party chief (Akhilesh Yadav) shamelessly supported the perpetrator, the CM alleged. Another model of the SP was evident in Kannauj, the CM pointed out. “They violate …
