Central Vista revamp: Govt plans Metro corridor in Delhi connecting new museum at North Block, India Gate, ministry offices | Delhi News
A direct link to the Yuge Yugeen National Museum, proposed stops at Bharat Mandapam and India Gate — as part of its larger Central Vista redevelopment project, the central government is planning to construct an underground Metro corridor between Indraprastha station and the new national museum proposed at North Block and South Block, The Indian Express has learnt. The proposal is to connect Indraprastha with the Yuge Yugeen National Museum after the Ministries functioning from the North and South Blocks are shifted to new secretariat buildings in the next few years, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs sources said. In the first phase, the museum at North Block is proposed to be set up. “It will be an underground corridor and the stations are proposed at Bharat Mandapam-Supreme Court, India Gate Hexagon (2 stations), Kartavya Path, Central Secretariat (interchange), North Block and Yuge Yugeen Museum…,” said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson Anuj Dayal when asked for comment. “The Detailed Project Report is yet to be prepared and the proposal is in its preliminary stages,” he …
