The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday said that The UniContinental hotel, which houses Habitat studio where Kunal Kamra performed the controversial standup comedy, did not have the permission to hold public gatherings in the basement. After a video of the show in which Kamra takes a jibe at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was released on social media, Shiv Sena workers had vandalised the venue on March 23. On Monday, the BMC officials had carried out an inspection of the venue without any prior notice and took the original blueprint of the property for further assessment.
