Why restricted match-ups in middle overs are limiting use of Yuzi Chahal

Why restricted match-ups in middle overs are limiting use of Yuzi Chahal

For much of IPL 2026, Punjab Kings looked like a side sprinting ahead of the pack. They chased down huge scores and played with a fearlessness that made them one of the most entertaining teams in the tournament. But things have taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks, with the Shreyas Iyer-led side suffering a fourth straight defeat, this time to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala on Monday. Defending 210 runs, PBKS watched DC chase the target down with an over to spare, but beyond the sloppy death bowling, one detail stood out: Yuzvendra Chahal not getting a single over. It was a decision rooted in match-ups. DC had two left-handers – Axar Patel and David Miller – controlling the chase through the middle overs, and PBKS seemingly felt Chahal was too risky an option against them. More importantly, this was not the first time this season that Iyer seemed reluctant to use him in uncomfortable match-ups. 3 min readNew DelhiApr 2, 2026 03:16 AM IST Vice-chancellors and professors of eight National Law Universities (NLUs), who met the Joint Committee of Parliament on ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bills on Wednesday, were said to have suggested that the Election Commission’s powers should be limited and that a constructive vote of no-confidence should be added. BJP MP P P Chaudhary, the Committee’s Chairman, said that the discussion was “very good” and that the representatives made many good suggestions that would be considered. “The NLU V-Cs and representatives made presentations. The Committee members had some more questions, so we have asked the NLUs to send us their responses to those as well.” Parliamentary committee proceedings are privileged and details of exchanges between members during meetings are not made public. Vice-Chancellors and other representatives of eight NLUs — Jodhpur, Kochi, Patna, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Maharashtra and Lucknow — met the House panel on simultaneous elections. The NLUs are said to have suggested that a clause for a constructive no-confidence motion—like the one in Germany, Belgium …

Illinois governor JB Pritzker signs law limiting immigration arrests near courthouses | World News

Illinois Gov. Pritzker signs bill to further shield illegal immigrants from deportations. (Photo: X/@FoxNews) Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has approved a new state law that restricts when and where immigration agents can make arrests, The New York Times reported. The measure blocks civil immigration enforcement at state courthouses and within 1,000 feet of them, and gives residents more power to sue federal agents if they believe their rights were violated. The law was passed in October as federal authorities carried out a major immigration crackdown in the Chicago area, leading to thousands of arrests and repeated tensions with local communities. However, supporters said the law was needed to protect residents from being detained while going about daily activities. State Representative Lilian Jiménez said, according to The New York Times, that people “should be able to go to court, take their kid to day care and have access to the university they attend without fear.” The law also limits what information hospitals, day care centres and colleges in Illinois can share with immigration authorities. Exclusive| Malaika Arora: The label item number felt limiting

Malaika Arora turned a year older last month. She posted, “My heart is full. Thank you all for the love, the wishes, and for making my 50th truly special.” In an industry where ageism is often an issue for women, Malaika continues to feature in dance numbers that are giving the younger lot tough competition. Ask her about it and she says, “It’s about evolving with the times without losing your core. You have to keep learning, stay fit, reinvent your style, and most importantly, keep your passion alive. I never want to be complacent or stuck in a particular image. And relevance also comes from being real. I hope my legacy is about fearlessness, about embracing your individuality, standing tall against judgments, and carving your path. If young performers, especially women feel confident of themselves about choosing their own path because of something I did, that would be the greatest legacy.” Malaika Arora While Malaika did try her hand at acting with short stints, ultimately it was the dance numbers that won acclaim and …

Twitch is limiting streamers to 100 hours of Highlights and Uploads

Twitch is limiting streamers to 100 hours of Highlights and Uploads

Twitch is planning to cull some of the content archived by streamers to save on storage costs. On Wednesday the streaming platform announced that it will introduce a 100-hour storage cap for Highlights and Uploads starting April 19th, warning that users will have their content automatically deleted until it falls below the limit. Twitch says it’s doing this because “Highlights haven’t been very effective in driving discovery or engagement,” and it isn’t worth the cost of storing thousands of hours of such content. Twitch is owned by Amazon, a market-leading cloud storage provider — a detail that hasn’t gone unnoticed by streamers criticizing the decision. The update only applies to Highlights — specific snippets edited from recordings of live broadcasts (VODs) using the Highlighter tool to showcase the streamer’s best moments — and uploaded footage created using third-party services. Other kinds of on-demand content, including Clips and VODs (the latter of which are already automatically deleted) won’t be impacted by the new storage limit. Twitch users who have already exceeded the cap can download Highlights …

Sean Penn Criticizes Oscars For “Limiting The Imagination” & Defends Donald Trump Movie The Apprentice At Marrakech Film Festival

Why Did Sean Penn Call Out The Oscars At Marrakech Film Festival? ( Photo Credit – Instagram ) Sean Penn has slammed the Oscars in an unhinged rant while at the Marrakech Film Festival. He received a career tribute in the event. The 64-year-old, who was also seen casually smoking at the event, blasted the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for “limiting imagination.” Sean Penn Slammed The Oscars For ‘Extraordinary Cowardice’ “The Academy have exercised really extraordinary cowardice when it comes to being part of the bigger world of expression, and in fact, have largely been part of limiting the imagination and very limiting of different cultural expressions,” Penn said at a press conference, as he looked exhausted holding the microphone in one hand and resting the other against his face. Penn continued his rambling, stating that ceremonies like the Oscars should best be seen as “television shows first” rather than measures of artistic value. “So I don’t… get very excited about what we’ll call the Academy Awards (except for) when a …

Limiting Sugar Intake in Early Childhood Reduces Risk of Diabetes and Hypertension, Claims New Study

Limiting Sugar Intake in Early Childhood Reduces Risk of Diabetes and Hypertension, Claims New Study

A study has revealed that controlling sugar intake in infancy can significantly reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, later in life. Researchers analysing historical data from World War II’s sugar rationing in the United Kingdom found that limited sugar consumption in childhood led to healthier adult outcomes, emphasising the importance of diet in the early stages of life. Economist Dr Tadeja Gracner from the University of Southern California led the research, published in Science.org. As per the report, the team explored the long-term effects of rationed sugar intake by reviewing health records of over 60,000 UK Biobank participants born from 1951 to 1956. The team then reportedly divided the participants into two groups, one experienced sugar rationing in early childhood, while the other grew up after the restrictions were lifted in 1953. Findings showed that those who had limited sugar intake as children were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes or hypertension later in life. The risk of diabetes was reduced by 38 percent, while hypertension risk …

California governor signs rules limiting AI actor clones

California governor Gavin Newsom has signed two bills that will protect performers from having their likeness simulated by AI digital replicas. The two SAG-AFTRA supported bills, AB 2602 and AB 1836, were passed by the California legislature in August and are part of a slate of state-level AI regulations. AB 2602 bars contract provisions that would let companies use a digital version of a performer in a project instead of the real human actor, unless the performer knows exactly how their digital stand-in will be used and has a lawyer or union representative involved. AB 1836 says that if a performer has died, entertainment companies must get permission from their family or estate before producing or distributing a “digital replica” of them. The law specifies that these replicas don’t fall under an exemption that lets works of art represent people’s likeness without permission, closing what The Hollywood Reporter characterizes as a potential loophole for AI companies. “We’re making sure that no one turns over their name, image, and likeness to unscrupulous people without representation,” Newsom …

While Enterprise Adoption of AI Increases, Barriers are Limiting Its Usage

About 42% of enterprise-scale companies report having actively deployed artificial intelligence in their business and of those, 59% have accelerated their rollout or investments in the technology, according to IBM’s Global AI Adoption Index 2023. Enterprise-scale refers to companies with more than 1,000 employees. “More accessible AI tools, the drive for automation of key processes, and increasing amounts of AI embedded into off-the-shelf business applications are top factors driving the expansion of AI at the enterprise level,” said Rob Thomas, senior vice president of IBM Software, in a statement. “We see organizations leveraging AI for use cases where I believe the technology can most quickly have a profound impact like IT automation, digital labor and customer care,” he said. Even though the research revealed that 40% of companies surveyed remain “stuck in the sandbox,” Thomas said he is confident they will overcome barriers like the skills gap and data complexity this year. What’s driving AI adoption The top factors driving AI adoption are: Advances in AI tools that make them more accessible (45%). The need to reduce costs …
