According to officials at the Kota Development Authority (KDA), which manages the project, the Chambal River Front has been incurring losses of around 50%. “With a daily average footfall of 1,000 people, the riverfront receives 3.6 lakh visitors per year. We have earnings of around Rs 1 crore while the expenses are Rs 2.10 crore,” Mahendra Saxena, executive engineer at the KDA, told The Indian Express. “We’re trying to get more tourists.
