With less than 40 days left for the Commonwealth Games 2026, countries have started announcing their squads for the event. India has also begun unveiling its contingent for the Games, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23rd to August 2nd. This year’s Commonwealth Games will feature only 10 sports. The reduced programme comes after the original host, the Australian state of Victoria, withdrew from hosting the event in 2023 due to financial concerns. Scotland later stepped in and opted for a smaller and more cost-effective edition of the Games. The 10 sports at Glasgow 2026 are: Athletics and Para Athletics, Swimming and Para Swimming, 3×3 Basketball and Wheelchair Basketball, Boxing, Track Cycling and Para Cycling, Artistic Gymnastics, Judo, Lawn Bowls and Para Bowls, Netball, and Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting.
