Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has urged Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi to permit installing three horse-mounted statues of Peshwa Bajirao I, Mahadji Shinde and Malharrao Holkar at the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. The area around Talkatora Stadium holds immense importance in the military campaigns launched by the Maratha Empire against the Mughals in the 18th century. After omitting the controversial lezim sequence in the upcoming movie Chhaava, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has suggested a series of changes in the Laxman Utekar directorial as it gears up for its release on February 14. From replacing certain words to not hurt the audience`s sentiment to deleting sequences that demean history, the Censor Board has left no stone unturned to avoid any form of controversies later.  CBFC suggests changes in Chhaava According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film has been granted a U/A 16+ certificate by the CBFC. The board has also asked makers to remove the scene that shows Maratha warriors wearing a saree. Jarange said he would approach a different strategy in the ongoing battle for Maratha reservation under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. He along with 104 activists, including women, had launched the hunger strike on January 25, to demand reservations for the Maratha community. While the demand for quota remains at the forefront of his movement, Jarange has also raised his voice for justice in the brutal murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district. Deshmukh was abducted, tortured, and killed on December 9, 2024. Jarange has demanded capital punishment for those responsible, further intensifying the pressure on authorities. “I have decided to withdraw fast on Thursday as I have decided to adopt a different strategy moving forward.
