(PTI) In a major relief for Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, the Rouse Avenue Court on Monday set aside a trial court’s order that had directed a further probe into his alleged role in the 2020 Delhi riots case. The court allowed the petitions filed by Mishra and the Delhi Police challenging the earlier order of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM), which had called for additional investigation into an alleged larger conspiracy behind the violence. In April, the trial court had said that a cognisable offence was “prima facie” made out and required further investigation. It had also observed that Mishra was present in the area at the time of the alleged offence and directed police to conduct a deeper probe into his role. Chandigarh, Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sumita Misra, on Tuesday stated that a ban has been implemented in the state on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or drones till May 25. Drone usage banned in Haryana till May 25: Home Secretary Misra In a letter addressed to all deputy commissioners, police commissioners, and superintendents of police across the state, Misra underscored that this preventive move is a critical step to counter potential threats and to safeguard sensitive areas during heightened security scenarios. Misra stated that the prohibition has been imposed across the state, except when used by the Indian armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces , Haryana Police, NDRF, and State Disaster Response Force. He has advised all police units and local authorities to intensify surveillance and monitoring of drones within their jurisdictions. If any drone or UAV is spotted or found in transit, it must be reported immediately to the nearest police station or official, and swift, appropriate action should be initiated. The Court of Appeal of Singapore has upheld the annulment of an international arbitration award chaired by former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra after discovering that nearly half the decision –47% or 212 out of 451 paragraphs –was copied verbatim from earlier awards he had authored in separate but related disputes.
