The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the state of Punjab to file an affidavit by mentioning the time frame in which the final report will be presented to the trial court after completion of investigation in the 16 pending cases against Mohali-based realtor, Jarnail Singh Bajwa. The Bench of Justice Sandeep Moudgil has sought the affidavit from Punjab Police while hearing a petition filed by Kuldeepak Mittal against the state of Punjab and other respondents. During the previous hearing, the HC had issued a contempt notice to the Mohali realtor for not appearing on multiple occasions before the HC, and also had asked him to furnish the details of moveable and immovable properties possessed by him. As the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, Bipan Ghai, Senior Advocate, appeared on behalf of Bajwa and prayed for more time to file reply to the show-cause notice as well as to provide the details of moveable and immovable properties.
