Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hit the poll campaign trail in support of his party candidates on Saturday by addressing a mega rally in Jammu and Kashmir`s Doda district, amid tight security arrangements. This will be the first visit by a prime minister to Doda in the last 42 years. J&K: Authorities setup multi-tier security ahead of PM Modi`s visit to Jammu

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have put in place a multi-tier security setup ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s visit to Jammu on Tuesday. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public rally at Maulana Azad Stadium in the heart of Jammu during his visit, officials said. PM Modi will also launch multiple development projects, including for education, railway, aviation and road sectors, worth Rs 30,500 crore, newswire PTI reported quoting the officials. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister`s Office (PMO), he will also distribute appointment letters to about 1,500 newly recruited government employees of Jammu and Kashmir and interact with beneficiaries of various schemes as part of the `Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu` programme. “A multi-tier security setup has been put in place across Jammu for the Prime Minister`s visit to the city of temples.
