While torrential downpour continued to lash Mumbai—prompting the IMD to sound a yellow alert in the city as well as the neighbouring districts, meteorologists have indicated that the intensity is slated to reduce over the weekend. Data furnished by the weather department showed that the Santacruz station received 74mm rain between Thursday and Friday morning while the coastal observatory at Colaba recorded 43mm during the same period.
