Mumbai Weather Update: The monsoon has arrived in parts of India, with Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and several other states facing disruptions in daily life. Visuals shared on social media showed several areas of Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, among others, flooded.
Heavy rain lashed Mumbai on Monday with the arrival of the monsoon, hitting normalcy. Amid the downpour, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an orange alert for Mumbai for today. The rain also affected the flight and train operations in the city.
The weather department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 50-60 km/h at isolated places in Mumbai for Monday.
Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued for 14 Kerala districts for the next 24 hours, while an orange warning has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha. The IMD has forecasted heavy to very heavy rains across the state.
