The young Indian boxer, Jadumani Singh Mandengbam, advances to the semi-final of the men’s 50 Kg at the World Boxing Cup Brazil in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil on Monday. He was the only wrestler who managed a win on the day, as the other three boxers, Narender (90+ Kg), Jugnoo (85 Kg), and Nikhil Dubey (75 Kg), bowed out in the quarterfinals. World Championships bronze medallist Deepak Bhoria (51kg) and Asian Games bronze medallist Narender (+92kg) bows out after losing their respective round of 64 clash on day one of the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifier in Busto Arsizio, Italy on Sunday. Deepak Bhoria went down against Huseynov Nijat of Azerbaijan in a closely fought contest. The first two rounds stood even as there was hardly anything to separate both the boxers as they were taking the attacking approach. The young boxer from Azerbaijan took full advantage of his pace as his constant movement made it difficult for Deepak to attack. Riot Convict Narender Singh Extradited From UAE Within 4 Months Of Red Corner Notice

New Delhi: A most wanted criminal was extradited from the UAE on Friday after he was “geo-located” in the Gulf by Interpol channels. Narender Singh, who was wanted by the Haryana Police for murder and rioting, also faced a Red Corner Notice. Singh was convicted in 2009 and jailed for life. Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice against him on November 7 last year following a request from India. The Red notice was then circulated to all Interpol member countries to identify his location. He was geo-located in the UAE through a close follow-up by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) via Interpol, the central agency said. Geo-locating someone means identifying the geographic location of an individual based on data collection mechanisms. The CBI’s Global Operations Centre coordinated with its National Central Bureau for Interpol in Abu Dhabi, the Indian embassy, the foreign ministry, and the Haryana Police to secure his extradition. “The Red Notice subject was returned today from UAE to India with a security detail from STF of Haryana Police,” said the …
