The Delhi High Court on Thursday agreed to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the violence that allegedly took place during the July 20 “Chalo Sansad” protest over the alleged NEET paper leak. The petition seeks the transfer of all First Information Reports (FIRs) registered by the Delhi Police in connection with the incident to a specialised investigating agency and requests action against those allegedly involved in the violence. One person was injured in a blast in a residential building in Kolkata’s New Town on late Friday evening, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the scene on Saturday. Police also recovered two explosives from the room and detained one person for questioning. Gangster Anmol Bishnoi has moved a special MCOCA court in Mumbai seeking permission to surrender in the 2024 Salman Khan residence firing case, saying it was necessary to enable him to participate in the proceedings and ensure a fair trial. The case relates to the firing outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai’s Bandra in 2024. Police have intensified their investigation into the petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) provincial office in Nivaranpur, Ranchi.  According to IANS, the police officials have also detained four individuals in connection with the incident. Those detained include the driver of the vehicle allegedly used in the attack and two of the suspected attackers. Probe underway to find the motive  According to the police officials, the detainees are being questioned to determine the motive behind the attack and uncover any larger conspiracy. The incident occurred on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday and was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the premises.
