The Meerut-based Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) announced on Saturday that it will not hold the annual Eid Milan event this year. The Eid Milan was scheduled to be held on the lawns of the Urdu Department on April 7. The announcement of the cancellation came following threats from a section of students that if the event were held, then they would also recite the Hanuman Chalisa at the main gate of the university. Story continues below this ad Dhirendra Kumar Verma, Registrar, CCSU, said, “A permission has to be sought for holding the Eid Milan, but the university has not got any such request so far.
