At the same time, Kerala is set to see the monsoon’s onset in 2-3 days, says the IMD. According to the weather department, partly cloudy conditions are expected to gradually give way to generally cloudy skies in Delhi-NCR, while very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds is likely during the afternoon and evening hours for the next four days till Friday. Thunderstorm, winds expected Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph, are expected across NCR between June 2 and June 5. Though India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast a marginally early monsoon onset, its extended range forecast now shows largely dry conditions over Kerala between May 28 and June 4 and only a very marginal improvement during June 4 to June 11. The southwest monsoon is likely to make onset over parts of south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands towards the end of this week, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
