A standard 36-page passport will now cost Rs 2,500, up from Rs 1,500, while a 60-page passport will be priced at Rs 3,500. Tatkal applicants will feel a steeper pinch — a 36-page Tatkal passport will cost Rs 5,000, up from Rs 3,500, while the 60-page Tatkal variant will go up to Rs 6,000. President Monika A Srivastava and member Kiran Kaushal noted that the complainant was also negligent in not checking the expiry dates before accepting the bulk consignment. “We are in agreement with OP that under no rule of Food Safety Regulation the sale of near expiry goods is prohibited. Complainant too is found to be negligent in not checking the dates of the dog food more so as bulk order was being purchased from OP,” the order dated June 10 read. Holding that there was contributory negligence on both sides, the commission directed the food supplier to pay a lump sum of Rs 50,000 within three months. Dubbed the “Fit for the Future Olympian Grant”, the IOC said that, starting with the 2026 Winter Olympics that was held in February this year, it will be paying every athlete competing at the Games the grant “to support their sporting career or career transition”. The protesting teachers demanded the grant of 60% DA, release of arrears under the 7th pay commission with effect from January 1, 2016, and rectification of pay anomalies. They also sought fixation of basic pay at ₹57,700 instead of ₹15,600 during the probation period and restoration of full pay benefits.
