A court in Maharashtra’s Latur district has sentenced a 21-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after convicting him of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. At least two people were killed and 17 others were injured after a minibus overturned onto a motorcycle in Madhya Pradesh`s Khargone district on Monday morning, police said, reported the PTI. Among the deceased were a woman and her 16-year-old daughter, it said.  The accident took place on the Khandwa-Baroda National Highway near Magariya village, under the jurisdiction of Jaitapur Police Station, around 11 kilometres from the district headquarters. According to police, the minibus driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid an oncoming car. The vehicle then overturned onto a motorcycle travelling on the highway, the news agency reported. The victims, identified as Monu (40) and her daughter Anita (16), were riding pillion on the motorcycle and died at the scene. The woman`s husband, who was driving the two-wheeler, suffered injuries in the crash. The incident took place on the night of April 2 and came to light the following morning, when security personnel noticed that the storeroom lock had been broken. The accused person failed to give any clear answer as to why those materials were with him,” the officer told media. A 35-year-old man was killed while two others sustained bullet injuries in an incident of shootout in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, the police said on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak alias Patrakar. The Jahangirpuri police station received information from Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital regarding a man brought with multiple bullet injuries, who was declared dead, a senior police officer said. Later, two more injured persons, Narendra and Suraj, were admitted to the hospital, the officer added. An 18-year-old domestic help died after falling from the 16th floor of a tower in Jaypee Greens Kosmos society in Noida’s Sector 134 Saturday. While her family alleged foul play, police said they are probing the incident from all angles. The deceased, Swati, hailed from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun and used to stay in the nearby village of Nangli Wazidpur.
