The directive applies immediately to all government, government-aided, private, and recognised institutions. Commission Chairperson Tripti confirmed the advisory, telling The Indian Express that similar incidents had previously been reported in Haryana’s Sonipat and in parts of Rajasthan. “Sometimes, fatal accidents happen when children, while playing in a light mood, casually pick up these neckties,” she said. The advisory stated, “Where a necktie is considered necessary to maintain uniformity or discipline, schools should adopt clip‑on (breakaway) or Velcro (quick‑release) neckties.” It further said, “Until such alternatives are adopted, schools should ensure that conventional neckties are not worn during sports, physical education classes, playground activities or any other activity involving a risk of entanglement.” The Commission also directed schools to sensitise teachers, students, and …

The decision was taken through an amendment to Rule 43A of the Drugs Rules, 1945, which adds Navi Mumbai Airport to the list of airports permitted to handle drug imports. According to officials, the move is aimed at strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain, improving logistics infrastructure and making the import process more efficient for businesses involved in the sector. West Bengal chief minister Subhendu Adhikary said on Friday that he is keen to create a suitable environment and introduce policy changes to promote industrialisation, which has suffered over the past few decades. On Thursday, Adhikary has set up a four-member committee, led by Bengal’s new industries minister Tapas Ray, to propose a new industrial policy. “I don’t want to approach industrialization in a haphazard manner. The Delhi government has approved a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy that offers a 100 per cent exemption from road tax and registration fees for electric cars priced at Rs 30 lakh or less (ex-showroom), reported the PTI. The policy was approved by the Delhi Cabinet on Monday and will come into effect from 1 July. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government will invest around Rs 15,000 crore over the next four years to promote electric mobility and reduce vehicular pollution in the national capital, according to the PTI. She said the policy is a major step towards making Delhi a pollution-free city by March 31, 2030. Purchase incentives for EV buyers To encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles, the government has announced financial incentives for buyers, the news agency reported.
