IIT-M invites applications for web-enabled programmes

IIT Madras has invited applications for its web-enabled M.Tech and PG Diploma programmes aimed at working professionals and recent graduates. For the M.Tech programme, the candidates should have relevant educational background and at least two years of work experience, while the PG Diploma programme is open to graduates, including freshers, with preference for those with relevant educational background. Those interested may submit their applications through the portal https://code.iitm.ac.in/webmtech. The last date for submission of applications is May 31. The entrance exams are scheduled for June and July and selected candidates will start their academic sessions in August or September.  The programmes are structured to offer multiple entry and exit options in disciplines ranging from Aerospace Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security (Computer Science), to Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Analytics, Mechanical Engineering, E-mobility, and Process Safety. Maharashtra govt approves 4-year UG programmes with honours, research degrees: Understand course structure

The Maharashtra government approved the rollout of four-year undergraduate programmes, introducing honours and honours with research degrees from the 2026-27 academic year. The programmes are in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. What’s the new programme structure? A government resolution (GR) issued on Monday stated that the four-year undergraduate programme will be structured into eight semesters, offering two options after completion of the third year: a standard honours degree and an honours degree with research, news agency PTI reported. The Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) will implement 25 programmes to modernise the skill development sector to make it suitable for the job market, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said. At a press conference here on Monday to explain some of the programmes, the Minister said a ‘Skill Secretariat’ would be set up to transform KASE into a single-window mechanism for skill development activities . A decentralised skill development mechanism on the model of People’s Plan and smart skill budgeting would be implemented for the first time in the country, the Minister said. A comprehensive plan had been prepared to use the resources of local government institutions for skill training as part of the 15th five-year-plan. The Minister said a skill gap report that studied the labour complexities in each district would be submitted soon. Formal inauguration of the district-level policy would be held in Thiruvananthapuram. A policy to provide accreditation to private training institutions had been formed to ensure quality. The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), through its Electronics & ICT Academy (E&ICT Academy), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ed-tech company Masai to launch a set of online certification programmes for professionals in emerging AI-driven and digital technology domains. Under this collaboration, the programmes will be designed and delivered through the E&ICT Academy, in areas such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML), Software Engineering with AI, and Prompt Engineering. The programmes will be available for entry-level learners and working professionals, including those from non-technical backgrounds, through a blend of live instructional sessions and hands-on learning. CUET (UG) 2026 will be held in May next year across India and abroad, the National Testing Agency said on Sunday. The NTA asked students to keep their Aadhaar card details updated, adding that online applications would be started soon. “Candidates are advised to regularly visit official websites for updates,” the NTA added. According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Aadhaar-based authentication will be mandatory for CUET UG 2026 registration. The agency said measures have been put in place to prevent any mismatch between Aadhaar details and Class 10 records. Details about CUET(UG) 2026 The test will be available for students in 13 languages. Programmes offered under CUET (UG) and syllabus can be checked on the official CUET portal.
