Manipur YouTuber Who Challenged National Investigation Agency Tells Central Forces To “Go Back” During Protests

Imphal: A YouTuber from Manipur who challenged the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to arrest him last year appeared in a fresh video, shouting at the security forces during recent protests in the border state. Sources said details of the YouTuber who identifies himself as Pt Marvin Kuki and runs a YouTube channel of the same name under the handle @PaotinmangChongloi have been flagged to the cyber cell. On March 8, the Kuki tribes in Manipur tried to stop public transport and clashed with the security forces who were trying to enforce the Centre’s order to ensure free movement of people in the violence-hit state that is under the President’s rule. A protester was killed and many others including security force personnel were injured. Paotinmang uploaded a video of the March 8 protest in which he was seen shouting at the security forces to “go back”. “If the central forces can’t keep neutral in both communities, please leave us alone. Why are tensions running high in Serbia ahead of a major student-led rally? | World News

BELGRADE, Serbia — As tensions in Serbia soar, students and other opponents of the populist president are gearing up for a major rally in the capital, Belgrade, over the weekend. Why are tensions running high in Serbia ahead of a major student-led rally? Momentum has been building in favor of their demands for major changes in the Balkan country, after nearly four months of student-led anti-government protests. Some believe that the demonstration on Saturday could mark the “D-Day” and endgame that have shaken the firm grip on power of authoritarian Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. As thousands of protesters arrive in Belgrade from all over the country, Vucic has warned that the rally could end in bloodshed. He threatened mass arrests of the protesters if they turn to violence, and said the only way he would leave power was “if they kill me.” Are clashes possible? Most of the student led-protests have so far been peaceful, with sporadic incidents caused by Vucic supporters. But this time, the president’s loyalists started arriving in the capital from all …

Opposition protests energy project near Indo-Pak border

Opposition members, mainly from the Congress and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), on Wednesday staged a protest in the Lok Sabha over clearance granted to a renewable energy project near the India-Pakistan border and staged a walkout after “not getting a satisfactory reply” from the government. Asking a supplementary question during Question Hour, Manish Tewari of the Congress said national security and energy security have to go hand in hand. He claimed the mixed renewable energy project will run up to one kilometer of the International Border (IB) and noted that as per security protocol, any big infrastructure project should be at least 10 km away from the IB. He asked whether any relaxation was granted to the proposed project. New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi said the government is keen to produce renewable energy in the country.  Joshi said clearances are sought from the central, state government and relevant agencies before licences are issued and nod is granted. Not satisfied with the reply, Congress members raised slogans on national security and stormed the …

Stalin leads protests against ‘saffron’ NEP | Latest News India

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Wednesday led a state-wide protest against the Union government amid a raging uproar over the National Education Policy (NEP), which he dubbed as a “saffron policy” aimed at developing Hindi and not the nation, and the proposed delimitation exercise, which he claimed was a sword hanging over south India. Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin addresses a gathering during a public meeting at Tiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. (PTI) “We oppose NEP as it will completely destroy Tamil Nadu’s education growth. The NEP does not accept reservation that is social justice. This policy denies the assistance amount to scheduled castes (SCs), scheduled tribes (STs) and other backward classes (OBCs),” Stalin said at a public rally. Tamil Nadu views the three-language formula, a key aspect of NEP, as a “proxy for Hindi imposition”, he said, accusing the Centre of withholding funds to the state for opposing implementation of certain central schemes, including NEP. “Can there be more anarchy than saying that if you do not adopt the …

Will Musk’s Ties to Trump & DOGE Lead to Long-Term Problems for Tesla?

Will Musk’s Ties to Trump & DOGE Lead to Long-Term Problems for Tesla?

President Donald Trump getting out of the Tesla he purchased. He is accompanied by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Image: Truth Social/@realDonaldTrump   On March 10, Tesla shares dropped more than 15%, hitting their lowest point since late October. On March 11, Trump gave a speech on the White House driveway to declare his support for the “great patriot” Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Trump’s endorsement and subsequent Tesla purchase gave the electric automaker’s stock a much-needed boost – it rebounded that day, closing nearly 4% higher. Musk was announced as the public face of the Department of Government Efficiency on January 10, a move that quickly sparked controversy. Critics argued that his deep involvement in private enterprises including Tesla and SpaceX posed significant conflicts of interest. Some fear his influence could lead to reduced oversight on Tesla’s self-driving technology or bias in awarding lucrative government contracts to his own companies. In Trump’s speech about Musk earlier this week posted to Truth Social, the president declared that “he’s been treated very unfairly” and claimed, “our country’s going …

The Tesla protests are getting bigger — and rowdier

The Tesla protests are getting bigger — and rowdier

This weekend, protests escalated at Tesla showrooms across the nation. Hundreds of people gathered to boycott Elon Musk and his involvement in the Trump administration as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is overseeing a massively disruptive effort to fire thousands of federal workers to slash government spending. Most of these protests are associated with the Tesla Takedown movement that first emerged in February. It encourages supporters to “sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines” as part of efforts to “stop Musk.” But momentum has ramped up significantly in the past week, leading to bigger turnouts and some arrests. Though most of these protests have been peaceful, there have been separate reports of vandalism and arson directed at Tesla. Last week, Tesla charging stations in Boston were set ablaze, while dozens of vehicles were torched at a dealership in France. Gunshots shattered windows and damaged cars at a Tesla showroom in Oregon, and a Boston man was arrested for slapping stickers of Musk making a Nazi-like salute on …

JD Vance slams New York Post as ‘idiot’ for reporting family was moved to ‘undisclosed location’ over protests

Mar 06, 2025 01:30 AM IST Vice President JD Vance addresses security concerns during Vermont trip, clarifies hotel switch was for privacy, not protests. Vice President JD Vance took a family trip to Vermont last weekend, heading to the Sugarbush Resort in Waitsfield for some time on the slopes following the heated Trump-Zelensky meeting. However, the New York Post reported that the VP was “forced to move his family to an “undisclosed location” after hundreds of pro-Ukraine protesters swarmed the Vermont ski resort where they were vacationing.” Vice President JD Vance’s ski trip to Vermont drew protests, but he defended his family’s experience, stating concerns about their hotel change were unrelated to demonstrators.(AFP) When Vance and his family arrived at the resort, they were met by a crowd of protesters, upset over his stance during the White House meeting. Demonstrators held signs accusing him of being a “national disgrace” , “traitor” and a “pawn” of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with some even suggesting that the vice president take his ski trip to Russia instead.
