Three people have been arrested in connection with the alleged petrol bomb attack on a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi, reported the PTI. Police are investigating possible links between the accused and terror organisations, including suspected connections with Pakistan-based networks. One of the accused was injured during a brief exchange of fire with police after attempting to escape from custody, officials said. The incident came to light after the RSS alleged that petrol bombs were thrown at its office in the Nivaranpur area of Ranchi during the early hours of Wednesday, as per the PTI. Following the complaint, police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine the case and identify those responsible. During the investigation, officers recovered broken glass bottle fragments from the site. Forensic experts and bomb disposal teams were also deployed to examine the area. Ranchi RSS office attack: Police detain four, SIT begins investigation

Police have intensified their investigation into the petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) provincial office in Nivaranpur, Ranchi.  According to IANS, the police officials have also detained four individuals in connection with the incident. Those detained include the driver of the vehicle allegedly used in the attack and two of the suspected attackers. Probe underway to find the motive  According to the police officials, the detainees are being questioned to determine the motive behind the attack and uncover any larger conspiracy. The incident occurred on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday and was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the premises. Preliminary investigations revealed that the attackers arrived in a rented car. Soon after the incident was reported, police first detained the driver of the vehicle and later intercepted two suspects who were reportedly attempting to flee to Delhi by train.  As per officials, both the accused were apprehended at a railway station in Bihar, while another individual has also been taken into custody for questioning. Top Maoist leader Prashant Bose, who had been jailed in Jharkhand for the last four years, died in state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Friday, police said. Maoist Prashant Bose died in a Ranchi hospital. (Representative image/ PTI) The Maoist leader, who was better known as ‘Kishan da’, was over 80 years old. “The health condition of Bose, who had been lodged in Birsa Munda Jail, deteriorated this morning, but he died during treatment. The exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained,” Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan told PTI. Bose, who also went by aliases ‘Manish’ and ‘Buddha’, was arrested along with his wife Sheela Marandi from Seraikela-Kharsawan district on November 12, 2021. He was carrying a bounty of ₹1 crore on his head at the time of his arrest.
