‘Handshake bhool gaye?’: Pakistan cricket’s latest salvo at India in cheeky Australia tour promo | Cricket News

Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a sneaky dig at India by reigniting the Asia Cup handshake controversy while promoting their upcoming T20I series against Australia. In a week’s time, Pakistan will host Australia in a three-match series which will be the final tune-up event for both teams ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The clip shows an Australian tourist travelling around Pakistan enjoying the hospitality with Pakistan cricket captain Salman Agha even paying the tourist’s dinner bill after delivering a line, “Mehman ho ji aap hamaare (you are our guest).” The tourist responds with a “shukriya” before telling his local friend that he “loves the hospitality in Pakistan”. The next scene shows the tourist being told by the local taxi driver that he would not take money from a guest in the country. When the tourist exits the …

VP Jagdeep Dhankhar’s fresh salvo at judiciary: Constitution is for people, those elected are ultimate masters

Constitution is for the people. And its repository of safeguarding it is that of elected representatives. They are the ultimate masters as to what constitutional content will be. There is no visualisation in the Constitution of any authority above Parliament. Parliament is supreme,” Dhankhar said. New Delhi: Amid a row over his remarks on a Supreme Court ruling, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday fired another barb at the judiciary, asserting that the Constitution is for the people and those elected through constitutional practices are the “ultimate masters” of safeguarding it and in deciding what its content should be. While speaking to students at the University of Delhi, the Vice President stated that every word uttered by a constitutional functionary is motivated by the paramount interest of the nation. “Let me tell you, the Constitution in encapsulated it essence, its worth, its nectar in the preamble of the Constitution. IPL 2025: Matheesha Pathirana fires salvo with a peach, but recent form a concern for CSK | Cricket News

IPL 2025: Matheesha Pathirana fires salvo with a peach, but recent form a concern for CSK | Cricket News

A muscled-up Matheesha Pathirana has fired his first salvo at batsmen during his training session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Chennai Super Kings seamer produced a low-flung good-length ball that shaped away after landing and blasted the stumps. The ricochet from the plastic stumps almost injured a support staff who could be seen taking late reflexive measures to move away from the ball screaming towards him. One of the five cricketers CSK had retained in the auction, his colleagues and fans would pin hopes on him replicating his efforts of the past years. In 20 games spread across three years, he nabbed 34 wickets at a thrifty economy rate of 7.83 (considering he bowls at the death). But the injuries, accelerated by his unusual action, wherein he twists his body when releasing the ball, putting strain on shoulders, back and legs, has stalled his career from reaching the heights he could have. His previous campaign had lasted only six games, before he picked up a hamstring injury and was ruled out of …

Last Updated:March 12, 2025, 17:56 IST Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pointed out that the holy Akshay Vat, situated inside the Allahabad Fort, was locked during the colonial rule, depriving devotees of darshan for centuries, while sacred sites like Saraswati Koop and Patalpuri remained neglected. UP CM Yogi Adityanath (PTI file image) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday took a sharp dig at the state’s previous governments saying that ancient sites in Prayagraj, including, Akshay Vat, Mata Saraswati Koop, Patalpuri, Shringverpur, and others, were encroached upon through ‘land jihad’ during their tenure.  While speaking at the ‘Manthan: Kumbh and Beyond’ Vichar Sangam event, organised by the RSS-affiliated weekly Organiser, Yogi slammed that the previous governments saying that the holy city, known to be the land of Maharishi Bharadwaj and home to the world’s first Gurukul, was once controlled by the “land mafias”,  who illegally took over historic sites. “This severely affected the heritage and significance of these sacred places,” Yogi said. On Birthday, MK Stalin’s Fresh Salvo Amid Delimitation Three-Language Row

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin urged the people of the state to join the language war and oppose delimitation, both issues at centre of a row with the Centre. On his birthday, he said that the Centre claims it is not imposing its will on the state, but actions suggest otherwise. The Centre and Tamil Nadu have been at loggerheads over the delimitation exercise expected next year, which will alter the proportion of Lok Sabha MPs from southern states. The redrawing of parliamentary seats will likely see Tamil Nadu gain only two seat despite having controlled population levels. Speaking on this on the recent video shared on X, Mr Stalin, “Don’t penalise southern states that took responsible measures to control population growth. Delimitation will affect Tamil Nadu’s self-respect, social schemes and people’s welfare. Apart from delimitation, Mr Stalin said that the two-part challenge faced by the state includes a language war. “We were pioneers of the language battle, setting the course for the entire nation,” he said. He added that the three-language …

Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi(ANI) Reacting to Modi’s reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President, the Congress MP said the PM didn’t mention ‘Make in India’ in his speech. “Prime minister, in your speech, you didn’t even mention ‘Make in India’!
