Scuffle between ticket examiner and a lawyer causes stir among the commuters at Egmore railway station

Both parties have filed complaints based on which a case has been registered. A senior official of the Government Railway police said Salma Begum was a train ticket examiner and was on duty at the Egmore railway station. She was involved in ticket checking on suburban platforms 10 and 11. At that time, a female lawyer Mohana from Mangadu was standing on the platform. Ticket Examiner Salma Begum asked the lawyer if she possessed a valid ticket, to which the lawyer replied that she had come to see off a friend. Then Salma Begum asked to see a platform ticket, but the lawyer did not have one. Consequently, Salma Begum asked her to pay a fine. This led to an argument and a physical altercation between the ticket examiner and the lawyer. The ticket examiner was injured. Both parties filed complaints …
