The proposed foundations will function as independent non-profit Section 8 companies and serve as a bridge between MLAs, government departments, private organisations, technology partners, social impact investors, corporates, CSR foundations, NGOs, educational institutions, philanthropists and the diaspora. Works under the agreement Under the agreement, EQUIPPP will work at the field level, with the support and guidance of local legislators, in areas such as skill development, education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, digital inclusion, sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday took oath as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) during the first session of the newly constituted Tamil Nadu Assembly in Chennai following the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) landmark electoral victory. The oath was administered by Pro-Tem Speaker M V Karuppaiah at the Assembly session held at the Secretariat. Assembly proceedings for the oath-taking ceremony began at 9.30 am with a formal introduction by the Pro-Tem Speaker. Vijay was the first legislator to take oath, followed by members of his cabinet and newly elected MLAs from various political parties. According to sources quoted by PTI, the letter also states that Mr. Chadha — who is also a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab — should not be allotted time for speaking in the House from the AAP’s quota. Mr. Mittal is a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) staged a Secretariat dharna and began a relay indefinite fast on Tuesday (January 27, 2026) in protest against the alleged neglect shown to their long-pending demands related to pay revision arrears and rectification of anomalies in the entry-cadre pay revision. Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) doctors held a token boycott of out-patient (OP) services, non-emergency services, and teaching services. A relay hunger strike will also begin at Thiruvananthapuram MCH here from Wednesday (January 28, 2026). The KGMCTA had earlier deferred its agitation following discussions with the State government. Man arrested for misusing name of joint secretary in CM’s secretariat to cheat assistant professor

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) on January 24 announced the arrest of a man from Mysuru for allegedly misusing the name of a joint secretary in the Chief Minister’s secretariat and cheating an assistant professor of lakhs of rupees. The accused has been identified as K.C. Jagadish, a resident of Mysuru. He allegedly used the name of M. Ramaiah, joint secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat at Vikasa Soudha, to carry out the fraud. The victim has been identified as Venkatesh Mutthannanavar, an assistant professor at JSS Science College. According to the complaint, Mr. Mutthannanavar had been attempting to become a member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). He met Jagadish through a paying guest accommodation owner in Kengeri. Jagadish allegedly promised to help him obtain KPSC membership and claimed that the work would be done through Ramaiah. However, Ramaiah was unaware of the matter and learnt about it only later. He subsequently submitted a complaint to Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, who handed over the case to the CCB.
