Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday (January 15, 2026) appeared before the Akal Takht Secretariat here after being summoned by the highest temporal seat for the Sikhs for his alleged remarks on Sikh traditions and tenets, and submitted his clarification. Before appearing before the Takht Secretariat, where he was present for more than an hour, Mr. Mann offered prayers at the Golden Temple. The Chief Minister later told mediapersons that he has submitted his clarifications to the acting jathedar of the Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has called for technical bids for the construction of five towers that would house the Integrated A.P. State Secretariat and HoD offices, at an estimated cost of ₹4,687 crore. One of the towers will house the General Administration Department, and its construction cost has been pegged at around ₹1,127 crore. The construction of the remaining four towers is expected to cost ₹3,560 crore. The last date for submitting the bids is May 1. Itanagar: Two government employees were arrested within a week at the Arunachal Civil Secretariat by the narcotics department, raising concerns over drug abuse and supply networks operating within the high-security premises, police said. On Monday, a Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) member of the state’s horticulture department, Vicky Chetry (32), was apprehended with 44.36 grams of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, and cash worth ₹32,760. The drugs have an estimated street value of around ₹3.7 lakh, the officer said. No casualties are reported so far. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained. According to information, the fire started in an area where batteries were stored. Upon receiving the information, the SPF personnel immediately alerted the fire safety team. The fire safety personnel rushed to the spot and managed to control the flames.  Authorities are investigating whether the incident was an accident or if there was any foul play involved. Soon after the Aam Aadmi Party’s defeat in the Assembly elections in Delhi, the General Administration Department of the Government of Delhi issued a notice, saying that no files and documents are to be taken out of the Delhi Secretariat premises without permission to ensure safety and security. The notice issued by GAD reads, “To address security concerns and the safety of records, it is requested that no files/documents, computer hardware etc. may be taken outside Delhi Secretariat complex without permission from GAD. It is, therefore, directed that necessary directions may be issued to the concerned branch in-charges under the Departments/Offices situated in Delhi Secretariat to ensure safety of records, files, documents, electronic files etc. under their section/branches.” The order further said that the rule is also applicable for all the Secretariat officials and Council of Ministers. A major building of the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday came under massive fire, which resulted into the damage of official documents. In response, authorities have formed a high-powered investigation committee over suspicions of an act of sabotage. It took almost six hours of firefighting effort to bring under control the fire which broke out in Building 7 of the Bangladesh Secretariat. In early morning on Thursday, the fire broke out in the nine-storey building, which houses seven ministries inside the high-security complex, said authorities. Notably, no casualties have been reported so far.    According to officials, a power outage caused by the fire forced other ministries apart from the building as well to halt their normal work while security agencies restricted entry inside the complex preventing many staff and officials from entering into the complex at the central part of the capital.
