In a first, a Nihang faction participated in the Shahi Snan (holy dip) alongside the three traditional Sikh akharas at the ongoing Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. Nihangs are a distinct warrior order within the Sikh community. The announcement was made by Jathedar Nihang Baba Harjit Singh Rasulpur of the Nihang Dal known as Misl Shaheedan Nihang Baba Fakir Singh Rasulpur (Ayodhya Wale). He was interacting with mediapersons at the BJP office in Chandigarh on Wednesday afternoon. Shahi Snan rituals took place on January 14, January 29 and February 3 at the Mahakumbh.
