CR`s Solapur Division completes future-ready upgrades at Tikekarwad
The Solapur Division of Central Railway has successfully completed a major infrastructure upgrade at Tikekarwadi station yard, aimed at improving safety, increasing capacity and enhancing overall operational efficiency. The works were carried out during recently completed traffic blocks and form part of the division`s ongoing efforts to modernise railway infrastructure and prepare for future growth in passenger and freight traffic. One of the key improvements is the commissioning of a modern Electronic Interlocking system, replacing the older Panel Interlocking arrangement. The new system improves safety by reducing the possibility of human error and ensuring safer and more reliable train movements within the station yard. Extended lines to handle longer trains The station`s operational lines have been extended to accommodate longer passenger and freight trains. This enhancement will increase capacity, ease congestion and help meet the growing demand for rail transport in the region.
