Distribution of forms has been hit at several locations where the Booth Level Officers did not go from house-to-house as mandated. A large number of BLOs made themselves available at school grounds, Resident Welfare Association’s offices and community halls, where the voters had to go and collect the forms. Wherever the electors were not proactive, their forms have remained with the BLOs. So far, official records show 100% distribution in all the 15 constituencies, which are part of the Hyderabad district. The Election Commission on Tuesday extended the deadline for various activities under the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. The poll authority wrote separate letters to the chief electoral officers of the two states. In both Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, the house-to-house visits by the booth level officers will continue till July 24, while the earlier deadline was July 14. The draft rolls in the two states were earlier scheduled to be published on July 21. Now, they will be published on July 31. The two states are part of phase 3 of the SIR rolled out on May 14. Once phase 3 is completed, the entire country, except for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, will be covered under the SIR rollout. The Patna Civil Court has granted anticipatory bail to Faisal Khan popularly known as ‘Khan Sir‘, providing significant relief in the high-profile coaching centre clash case that arose from a violent incident in Patna’s Musallahpur area.  The court also granted anticipatory bail to three staff members associated with Khan Global Studies. In addition, two security guards, who had earlier been arrested and lodged in Beur Jail, were granted bail.
