Noida fire: Two killed in Mamura building blaze, landlord arrested

A fire broke out in a multi-storied building in a Noida village on Wednesday, killing two people, police said. The fire was later brought under control, and around 50 tenants, residing in the building in Mamura village in Sector 66, were evacuated safely, officials said. Police said that two residents, a man and a woman, were rushed to the hospital; however, after reaching the hospital, both of them were declared dead by doctors. According to Joint Commissioner of Police Rajiv Mishra, the ground-plus-four building had around 10 to 12 rooms on each floor that were being used as residential flats, as per PTI. Landlord arrested Following the fire that killed two people in Noida, the landlord of the building has been arrested by the Noida police, and further investigation is underway.  Mishra, while briefing about the incident, said that the fire appears to have been sparked by an electric two-wheeler being charged inside the building. Over 20 people rescued after fire breaks out at EV showroom in Indore

Over 20 people from six families were rescued safely on Friday morning after a fire broke out at an Electric Vehicle (EV) showroom in Indore, trapping residents who lived on the upper floors of the mixed-use building.  Police and fire brigade teams, aided by neighbours, used ladders and ropes to bring them down. The incident occurred around 8 A.M. near Khalsa Chowk in the Lasudia area. The fire started in the EV showroom located on the ground floor of the apartment complex. Residents sleeping in flats above woke up when their rooms filled with smoke and they began experiencing breathing difficulties. With flames rising from below, the exit route was blocked and residents on the upper floors were unable to come down. Hearing screams, residents of a nearby multi-story building stepped forward to help. They arranged ladders and ropes and instructed those trapped to move to the roof. The Delhi government on Thursday announced an ex gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those killed in the Malviya Nagar hotel fire tragedy and Rs 5 lakh for those who sustained serious injuries in the incident. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Max Hospital in Saket to meet those injured in the fire and review their treatment. Daniel Williams, the popular drummer for metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, has died in a fatal plane crash in San Diego, on Thursday morning, according to TMZ.  He was just 39. The family of Williams later spoke to the outlet, confirming the tragic incident. Reportedly, 42-year-old Dave Shapiro, the co-founder of Sound Talent Group (STG) and a popular music agent who was travelling on the same flight, also lost his life. The Federal Aviation Administration has yet to confirm the total number of casualties. However, according to reports, there were a total of six people travelling on the private jet.
