President Monika A Srivastava and member Kiran Kaushal noted that the complainant was also negligent in not checking the expiry dates before accepting the bulk consignment. “We are in agreement with OP that under no rule of Food Safety Regulation the sale of near expiry goods is prohibited. Complainant too is found to be negligent in not checking the dates of the dog food more so as bulk order was being purchased from OP,” the order dated June 10 read. Holding that there was contributory negligence on both sides, the commission directed the food supplier to pay a lump sum of Rs 50,000 within three months. Rivian is receiving $16 million in state incentives to help construct a new 1.2 million-square foot supplier park near its EV manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois, according to Illinois Governer JB Pritzker and Rivian, who both made official announcements today. As part of the deal, Rivian will invest nearly $120 million towards the project, which is expected to directly create about 100 new jobs. In a press release, Pritzker says Rivian’s investment in the new facility will create “an entire ecosystem” that will help attract global investment and create jobs, as well as “strengthening the EV manufacturing supply chain.” Rivian says the supplier park is already under construction and is scheduled to be completed in 2026. It will feature an underground tunnel that connects it with the main plant so parts can easily be transferred without increasing traffic in the area. New Delhi: The Crime Branch has arrested an interstate drug supplier and a buyer, seizing a total of 726 grams of heroin worth over Rs 4 crore in the international market, an official said on Friday. Based on inputs, a team apprehended Lalla Babu, a drug supplier from Dilshad Garden on January 6, 2025. During the raid, 502 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession, police said in a statement. Further investigation revealed that Lalla Babu worked for Nizamuddin, a major drug supplier in Bareilly and was responsible for supplying heroin in Delhi-NCR, the statement added. On January 10, the team tracked the buyer, Vijay from Kalyanpuri, but he managed to evade arrest after abandoning his car, police said. A forensic search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 99 grams of heroin. Vijay has a history of 47 criminal cases and is a listed “bad character” at Nand Nagri Police Station. Illegal gun-making unit busted in Meerut, supplier, owner arrested

Two people have been arrested after the Delhi Police seized 16 countrymade pistols, 41 barrels and eight manufacturing instruments from an illegal manufacturing unit being run from a flat in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. Those arrested have been identified as 40-year-old Ikram and the Meerut factory owner Mashook. According to police, Ikram was held when he was in Delhi to allegedly supply illegal weapons to criminals. Two countrymade pistols and six live cartridges were recovered from him. A case under the Arms Act has also been filed against him, police said. According to Special CP (Crime) Devesh Shrivastava, Ikram disclosed that he procured weapons from Mashook. Following this, a police team raided an isolated flat in Kashi Ram Colony of Meerut and found the arms factory where 14 countrymade pistols, 41 barrels and eight tools used for manufacturing illegal weapons were seized, and arrested Mashook.
