Resident doctors had an altercation, involving alleged death threats, over a Ganesh idol inside Ahmedabad’s SVP Hospital, leading to an FIR filed in the matter on sections including criminal intimidation. When asked about the incident, Saurabh Patel, the CEO of SVP Hospital, said the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the hospital’s medical college’s Dean Dr Cherry K Shah. Shah said that the FIR had been rescinded as a compromise had been reached. Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr Kuldeep Joshi, the complainant in the September 4 FIR, stated that he was taking patient rounds at night when at 11.45 pm, he received a call from Dr Jay Raja saying that an incident had taken place in the hospital. When he went to the ground floor, several resident doctors of NHL Medical College were gathered there, including Jay Raja, Jay Hathila, Marut Amrutiya, and Pushparaj Chudasama.
