The film was initially scheduled to be released in theatres on January 9, 2026, to coincide with the Pongal season. However, the film failed to get censor clearance on time and had to be pushed indefinitely. Following multiple delays, the film’s release was postponed due to the elections in Tamil Nadu. The film was meant to mark Vijay’;s farewell movie as he had decided to enter politics full-time. In May, the election results revealed that his party, TVK, won, becoming the single largest party. Vijay became the Chief Minister of the state. Now, two months after he was sworn in as the state’s Chief Minister, his film will see the light of day on the big screen. It’s Ronaldo swansong, but what gives Portugal extra reason to go the distance

4 min readJun 9, 2026 07:11 PM IST Winning the World Cup in what would definitely be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last tilt would arguably be the biggest motivation for the Portuguese team, but they would also like to do it for someone who will not be there with them in the flesh. Diogo Jota would have been there had he not been killed in a car crash almost a year ago, but defener Diogo Dalot believes he will be there in spirit with his compatriots as they embark on their campaign in the United States. “This summer, we will not just have 26 players. We will be 26+1,” Dalot writes in The Players’ Tribune in the days leading up to the World Cup. He conveys the shock he and his teammates felt when they got the fateful news. “I refused to believe it… Even when his death was confirmed, it seemed too sick to me to be true. Just a few weeks earlier, we were celebrating the Nations League title together. I could still see him …

Priyadarshan’s ‘swansong’ with Mohanlal a musical with 12 songs, exploring father-son clash of egos | Malayalam News

4 min readKochiApr 20, 2026 08:30 PM IST Ever since filmmaking legend Priyadarshan announced last year that he was likely to retire after completing 100 films, his fans have been heartbroken. However, the feeling turned bittersweet when the director announced that his 100th venture would be with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, his frequent collaborator and one of his best friends since childhood. Recently, production company Aashirvad Cinemas, under Antony Perumbavoor, officially announced the unnamed project as its 38th film venture, thus bringing the director’s landmark movie to life. Since most of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal’s collaborations have been comedic — with notable examples including Boeing Boeing, Aram + Aram = Kinnaram, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Vellanakalude Nadu, Chithram, Vandanam, Kilukkam, Thenmavin Kombath, and Chandralekha — fans were expecting the movie to fall into that category. Some even thought it would be a serious drama like their Aryan, Kadathanadan Ambadi, Abhimanyu, Adhwaytham, or Kaalapani. MS Dhoni’s swansong? Former India teammate says IPL 2026 could be the last time legendary ex-CSK captain is seen in team’s colours | Cricket News

3 min readMar 14, 2026 03:28 PM IST MS Dhoni is set to appear in his 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), being the only player who was among the captains in the inaugural 2008 season to be still active in the league. Dhoni has played all but two of these seasons for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and has pretty much been the primary face of the franchise, leading them to a record-equalling five titles. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan feels that the upcoming 2026 season could truly be the last time fans get to see the 44-year-old play in the team’s famous colours. “CSK is incomplete without MS Dhoni. This season might be the last time we see him in the yellow jersey and it’s tough to imagine CSK and the IPL without him,” Pathan, who was an integral part of the Indian team that Dhoni led to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, said on JioHotstar’s ‘Game Plan’. “As soon as the IPL comes around, we start seeing Mahendra …

But a lesser known fact is that his debut film dates back even further, to 1977. Credited as Master Bobby, an eight-year-old Bobby played the young version of Dharam Singh, the character played by Dharmendra in Manmohan Desai’s period action drama Dharam Veer. Bobby’s ‘Special Thanks’ in Ikkis Life has come full circle for Bobby almost 50 years later, thanks to his association with Sriram Raghavan’s period war drama Ikkis, which marks the swansong of Dharmendra, who breathed his last in November this year. The late actor plays ML Khetarpal, the father of real-life young martyr Arun Khetarpal, who sacrificed his life in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. Bobby has got a “Special Thanks” in the credits of Ikkis …

Here’s to his regal swansong Rohit Bal was a visionary. Years ahead of his time. While his paradigmatic influence on the landscape of Indian fashion stands more than well acknowledged, many still don’t understand how formative his professional journey has been in elevating the showcase, interpretation and expansion of the same. While a man of his calibre never really needed a label to cement his worth, the fact that he was dubbed as India’s ‘Master of fabric and fantasy’ in 1996 by Time magazine — which mind you was just 6 years into him launching his eponymous label — was proof enough of the greatness he would keep spinning with his delicate yet groundbreaking work.
