Actor Kunal Kemmu’s latest work is not on the big screen, but on streaming. And for the first time, he is not acting or directing. Kunal is hosting the new Prime Video reality show, Alliance. Ahead of the show’s release this week, Kunal spoke to HT about its concept and how alliances exist outside reality TV, in real life. Kunal Kemmu talks about alliances and more in Bollywood. On alliances in real life Alliance, as the name suggests, is based on the concept of shifting alliances, where players realise that their friends and allies are not permanent. Kunal says the concept is not much different in reality. “There is a family you are born into, and there is a family you make or choose, like friends who become like family. And sometimes family relationships don’t last. Human existence is based on alliances. Back in the day, if you could not be a hunter or gatherer, you had to make alliances to survive. Alliances are what you need to survive,” he says. On camps in Bollywood …

If you say Ronaldo has no talent or Messi hasn’t worked, you never trained a day in your life

If you say Ronaldo has no talent or Messi hasn’t worked, you never trained a day in your life

4 min readUpdated: Jun 6, 2026 04:32 PM IST Kylian Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina, one of the greatest individual performances in the tournament’s history, has revealed he has never watched the match back and has no intention of doing so. “If I watch it, it can wake demons,” Mbappe said in an interview with Sorare, a fantasy football platform. “We lost. You have to move on.” The France captain said it was probably the best World Cup final ever played. “In terms of entertainment, in terms of the occasion, the scenario, I don’t think there has been anything better. It ended on penalties, which is the most brutal thing possible for a supporter or a player. It was going to be historic either way, whether Leo finally won his World Cup or we did the back-to-back.” The goal he says he has rewatched most in his career, though, is a relatively obscure one: a toe-poke against Lyon in the Coupe de France early in his career. …

Gopichand on doubles talent Hariharan

Gopichand on doubles talent Hariharan

India’s Malaysian doubles coach Tan Kim Her has a talent for Kintsugi – the age-old Japanese art of patching precious things back, with powdered gold. After Satwik-Chirag, he is now beginning to make things click for India’s second best doubles pairing of MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan. Having paired them together with yet another inspiring call at the Hyderabad Gopichand academy, Tan is now in charge of yet another potentially massive talent in Hariharan. “Hari is very explosive and strong from the back court, and combines well with Arjun’s experience,” national head coach Pullela Gopichand says. “Not only does he have the power and gamesense, he has the quality to back it up on court. He has a lot of energy from the back of the court and is fearless,” he adds. Are we looking at the next big thing in doubles? “He is world-class,” Gopichand simply states. Reaching their first ever quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Indonesia Open, Arjun-Hari scored a gutsy 16-21, 21-15, 21-19 win over Malaysian World No 23 Aaron Tai and …

Will the real France, full of attacking talent, step up on big stage

Will the real France, full of attacking talent, step up on big stage

Frightfully abundant in attacking talent during a period that has the makings of a dynasty but is peppered with the inability to win a slew of major trophies, France could have been the Brazil of 1958-70. The South American giants carved out a legacy falling only once, to the Italians, in a 12-year cycle of dominance built by an assembly line of domestic talent lining up behind the mercurial Pele. As France head coach Didier Deschamps’ prepares for his swansong, his charges have to show they know how to get the job done. Kylian Mbappe is now 27 and France’s leading man. Captain, central striker, bereft of any defensive responsibilities, the Frenchman is where he would like to be. The last visual of him from a World Cup was one of singularity: three goals in 120+ minutes of football, followed by one of three in the penalty shootout in the 2022 final against Argentina. Mbappe joined Geoff Hurst as scorers of hat-tricks in a final, but came out on the wrong end of the result. …
