Amit Shah says Bharat Taxi will end exploitation of drivers and passengers
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the newly launched Bharat Taxi initiative has been designed to eliminate the exploitation of both taxi drivers and passengers by creating a cooperative platform owned by its members instead of private companies. Launching the service in Gujarat, Shah said the idea emerged after years of complaints from drivers and commuters about the functioning of app-based taxi aggregators. He argued that the cooperative model would ensure greater transparency, dignity for drivers and fair treatment for customers.
