Australian charged after missing Thai teen found dead in suitcase

An Australian man was charged with murder and concealment of a body in connection with the death of a teenage girl in an eastern tourist city in Thailand, police said Tuesday. The 17-year-old girl was reported missing Friday.  Police said she was last seen on security footage walking into a condominium with the suspect, Simon Peter Carman, in the popular beach city of Pattaya about 150 km east of Bangkok. Carman was later seen leaving the building alone with a large suitcase and security footage showed him loading the suitcase onto a motorbike and riding into a deserted area along the railway, local police said. Carman was arrested early Saturday at a Bangkok airport before boarding a flight bound for Perth, Australia, and charged with raping a minor.  The suitcase containing the girl’s body was found shortly after he was arrested, leading to the additional charges, police said. The charge of premeditated murder carries a possible death penalty. Carman, who denied all charges, is in custody and has been provided an attorney. It was not …

Pumpkin Curry Recipe (Thai Style) – Dassana’s Veg Recipes

Thai style pumpkin curry is a simple coconut milk based curry made with pumpkin, red curry paste and herbs. It has a balance of sweet, spicy and savory flavors that work well with rice or flatbreads. This recipe uses Thai ingredients but can be adapted with what you have at home. About Pumpkin Curry Recipe This curry is similar to the Thai dish Gaeng Fak Thong (Thai pumpkin curry). It is a coconut-based curry made with pumpkin and Thai curry paste. My recipe begins with Thai red curry paste sautéed in coconut oil. This step brings out the aroma and gives the curry its heat and depth. You can make the paste at home using the method shown in my Thai Red Curry recipe or use a good quality store-bought brand. Then pumpkin, Thai baby eggplants and green peas are added along with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and bird’s eye chillies. Water is added and the curry is simmered until the pumpkin cubes are just cooked and tender. Once the pumpkin is cooked, coconut milk, …

Isharani Baruah gives it a good go in Game 2 against Pitchamon ‘Pink’ Opatniputh, but Thai teen prevails in Orleans Masters semifinal | Badminton News

5 min readNew DelhiMar 22, 2026 12:24 AM IST Isharani Baruah would surely have had more fuel in her tank than Pitchamon ‘Pink’ Opatniputh, with the Indian on court for just 28 minutes in her semifinal win against Malvika Bansod while the Thai 19-year-old had to spend 70 minutes against Japan’s Riko Gunji. But in the end, it was the Indian’s fatigue that cost her as she went down 12-21, 21-23 in a 52-minute contest against the 2023 Junior World Champion to mark the end of Indian contention. Opatniputh showed an early glimpse of her talent with a delightful winner at the net for 2-2 – shaping to play a tight spinning net shot, but held the racket a second longer and pushed it over Isharani into the deep forehand corner. Isharani wasn’t quite going all out attack early on, a heavy brace on her left knee perhaps indicating she wasn’t at her 100%. Opatniputh’s movement, however, was all grace in the early exchanges and she opened up a 8-5 lead with an elegant crosscourt …
