If he plays on the tour, Sooryavanshi will break Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the youngest ever debutant for India. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, in a press conference in which he also announced Shreyas Iyer as India’s new T20I captain, said that Sooryavanshi has been included in the Indian squads for the upcoming tours of the two countries, as had been reported by the Indian Express earlier. It comes after he won the Orange Cap in the 2026 IPL, making headlines with his sensational power-hitting. Sooryavanshi followed up a remarkable debut in the 2025 IPL by winning the Orange cap in the recently concluded 2026 edition of the tournament. Joseph Vijay toured the Secretariat campus and several iconic places within the historic Fort St. George complex in a battery-operated car on Friday. Mr. Vijay began the tour from Gate 10 of the Secretariat and visited St. Mary’s Church, one of the oldest British-era structures in Tamil Nadu. After spending some time at the church, he proceeded past the office of the Archaeological Survey of India, the defence hospital area, the parade ground, and near the Chennai Fort Railway Station. Hundreds of Secretariat staff, government employees, and members of the public greeted the Chief Minister as he went around the campus. The premier international beach volleyball event, The Beach World Pro Tour, is returning to India after a one-year gap. It will be held from 4 to 8 March, 2026 in Bhubaneswar. Around 120 athletes from over 15 countries will compete in what is the the second tier of the Pro circuit. In the women’s section, the 2023 World Champion Sara Hughes and her new partner Ally Batenhorst of the USA will be the top seed and the favourites to win the title. However, the top-seed in the men’s section, Jonas Sagstetter and Benedikt Sagstetter of Germany, withdrew from the tournament as there VISA was not approved. India will field one pair each in the men’s and women’s main draw, plus three pairs per gender in the qualifying round, with hopes of advancing to the main competition.
