Mild tremors reported in Nashik; no casualties or major damage reported
Several mild tremors were felt across parts of Maharashtra’s Nashik district between Saturday morning and the early hours of Sunday. Officials said there were no reports of any loss of life or major damage to property, reported the PTI. However, the Nashik district administration has stepped up monitoring and ordered inspections of vulnerable buildings as a precaution. According to officials, the tremors were experienced in Surgana, Kalwan, Dindori and Peth talukas, the news agency reported. The Maharashtra Engineering and Research Institute (MERI), based in Nashik district of Maharashtra, said that the tremors measured around 3.6 in magnitude. The latest tremors were reported late on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday after initial seismic activity was recorded in Surgana on Saturday morning, according to the PTI.
