Shiv Sena candidate Saeed Khan on Monday defeated Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) nominee Vivek Navandar by 83 votes in the election to the Parbhani-Hingoli local authorities constituency of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, an election official said told news agency PTI.  The counting of votes for the June 18 elections to 11 seats in the legislative council was conducted on Monday. Voting held in 11 constituencies The biennial elections were initially announced for 17 seats, including one bypoll. However, polling was required in only 11 constituencies after candidates of the ruling Mahayuti alliance secured unopposed victories in six seats. The Mahayuti alliance comprises the BJP, the Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the NCP faction headed by Sunetra Pawar. Saeed Khan secures decisive victory In the Parbhani-Hingoli local authorities constituency, Khan secured 242 votes, while Navandar received 159 votes.
