The incident was reported from the Matawali Patti area under the Asmoli police station limits. The deceased, Roop Jahan, was in a relationship with a 22-year-old man from the same village, identified as Shivam Saini. According to police, the accused, Jane Alam, informed authorities about the incident himself. Additional Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh said that late on Thursday night, Jane Alam made a PCR call stating that he had killed his sister. He was taken into custody. Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was in a relationship with a man from another community. Reports state that she had earlier left home and stayed with her partner’s relatives in Amroha district. She was later brought back by her family after intervention by villagers.
