From the Urdu Press: ‘Pakistan in perennial denial mode… must pay for Pahalgam’, ‘Foil terrorists’ communal designs’ | Political Pulse News

‘Spoke In Urdu To Deceive English Bowlers’: Pakistan Spinner Sajid Khan’s Huge Revelation

Pakistan’s experienced off-spinner Sajid Khan found a unique way to play all sorts of tricks on England players during the ongoing third Test in Rawalpindi. From twirling his moustache to thumping his thigh, Sajid found another way to get under the skin of England bowlers by using bilingualism to his advantage. While Sajid’s success with the ball comes down to his angle of spin and the flight of the delivery, his fortune with the bat is a different story. On the fourth ball of the 86th over, Sajid had a conversation with vice-captain Saud Shakeel. The duo didn’t mind if the stump mic had caught the conversation they had before Sajid went on to take the strike. Sajid danced around on the crease and went on to launch the ball over midwicket into the Javed Miandad stand. The 31-year-old revealed that the intended audience of their conversation were Pakistan-origin spinners, Rehan Ahmed and Shoaib Bashir. “We were only doing that [speaking loudly in Urdu] to deceive the bowlers. Rehan and Shoaib understand Urdu, …

‘Will firm up plan to replace Urdu terms linked to Kumbh’

ON SATURDAY, the second day of the ongoing all India council meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, it was unanimously decided to firm up a proposal replacing the Urdu terms ‘Shahi’ and ‘Peshwai,’ commonly associated with the Kumbh Mela, with “names rooted in Sanatan Dharma.” During the three-day meeting, several other resolutions were passed, including a call for enhanced security measures for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in 2025 and a directive for akharas to issue identity cards to sants/sadhus for easier identification. The discussions also covered topics such as “love jihad”, cow slaughter and the safety of sants. Additionally, the council urged the government to consider awarding the Bharat Ratna to senior sants in recognition of their contributions to Sanatan Dharma. Last month, a group of sadhus and seers advocated for changing the term “Shahi Snan” to a name more in line with Sanatan traditions and this matter was brought up for discussion at the Parishad meeting in Prayagraj on Saturday. “Shahi Snan,” or royal bath, signifies the ritualistic bathing of sadhus and devotees …
