In a statement issued on Friday, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said that Indian national Nikhil Gupta, charged with the 2023 assassination plot against Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York, has pleaded guilty in a United States court. It further said that Gupta worked at the direction of an Indian government employee to arrange the murder plot.
