File | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal on Sunday (December 29, 2024) said that an action plan was being prepared to reduce the number of road accidents significantly in Vizianagaram district. He said that an awareness camp would also be conducted to explain the consequences of overspeeding, drunken driving, driving without a seat belt and helmet and others. As many as 10 persons were killed in three weeks near Polipalli of Bhogapuram mandal in Vizianagaram district. It was observed that high speed and unskilled driving were the reasons for the road accidents in Polipalli, which is located on the Srikakulam-Visakhapatnam national highway. Against this background, Mr.Jindal held a meeting with senior officials of Bhogapuram and other areas to chalk out an action plan to stop road accidents on the route.
