Several parts of Vidarbha recorded a mix of heat, humidity and isolated rainfall activity, according to meteorological data observed at 8.30 am on Monday, with significant temperature variations across cities. Amravati, Yavatmal record rainfall amid humid conditions Amravati reported a maximum temperature of 31.0 degrees Celsius, a sharp drop of 4.2 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours, along with heavy rainfall of 24.6 mm. Maharashtra rain alert: IMD issues orange alert for thunderstorms in Vidarbha

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert for parts of Vidarbha, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds and isolated heavy rainfall over the next few days, with weather activity expected to intensify from July 2 onwards. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur, the southwest monsoon remains active and normal over Vidarbha, bringing fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall across the region. The IMD said favourable conditions continue for the monsoon to advance further into parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next two to three days. Meteorologists attributed the prevailing weather to multiple atmospheric systems, including upper air cyclonic circulations over northern Telangana, north Gujarat and central Chhattisgarh, along with several troughs extending across Madhya Pradesh and Marathwada. Severe weather conditions grips Vidarbha for 16th day as IMD issues red alert

Vidarbha on Wednesday continues to reel under an intense heatwave, which has persisted for the past 16 days. Rainfall activity in the region has remained isolated, with only light intensity showers reported at a few locations.  Maximum temperatures have shown no significant change and continue to remain above normal, while minimum temperatures have stayed largely normal. Brahmapuri in Chandrapur district and Gadchiroli recorded the highest maximum temperature at 46.6 degrees Celsius, while Buldhana registered the lowest minimum temperature at 21.3 degrees Celsius across Vidarbha stations. Red alert issued for Nagpur, Chandrapur and adjoining districts The IMD has issued a red alert for Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Washim, warning of a likely continuation of heatwave to severe heatwave conditions at several places.
