Maharashtra witnessed mixed monsoon conditions on Sunday, with moderate rainfall reported in parts of the state, including the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), even as daytime temperatures remained above normal at several locations. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued thunderstorms, and rainfall across the state over the coming days. Mumbai and MMR weather Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 26.2 degrees Celsius, marginally 0.1 degree above normal. The weather office has forecast partly to generally cloudy skies with thunderstorms, lightning, moderate rainfall in Mumbai and neighbouring districts over the next few days. Thane and Palghar are also expected to witness thunderstorms, moderate rain and gusty winds, while Raigad and other coastal parts of MMR may experience isolated heavy rainfall during the forecast period. Parts of Maharashtra on Tuesday continued to witness heatwave conditions, with several districts recording temperatures above 46 degrees Celsius. The weather department on April 28 issued a yellow alert for parts of Maharashtra, predicting hot weather conditions. According to a weather bulletin, Amravati recorded the highest maximum temperature at 46.6 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions were also reported on Monday, April 27, in multiple districts those recorded high temperatures. It said that Akola  recorded 46.3 degrees Celsius, Amravati (46.6 degrees Celsius), Chandrapur (45.2 degrees Celsius), Nagpur (45.0 degrees Celsius), Wardha (46.5 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (45.2 degrees Celsius). As several districts continue to face severe heatwave conditions, Gondia reported the lowest minimum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, the weather department said.
