A vacation bench of Justice Advait Sethna and Justice Sandesh Patil noted that while the stay was sought on the basis of a claim that a representation was made before the charity commissioner, the petitioner was not a complainant. Last week, the court had refused to grant an urgent hearing on a plea seeking a restraining order on the trustees from passing or implementing any decision arising out of or connected with its proposed board meeting. The Centre on Wednesday withdrew President’s Rule from Manipur, paving the way for the formation of the Yumnam Khemchand Singh-led NDA government in the state, officials said. “In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 356 of the Constitution, I, Droupadi Murmu, President of India, hereby revoke the Proclamation issued by me under the said article on the 13th day of February, 2025, in relation to the State of Manipur, with effect from the 4th day of February, 2026,” a Union Home Ministry notification said. Manipur had been under President’s Rule since February 13 last year, four days after then-Chief Minister N. Biren Singh resigned amid prolonged ethnic violence. Regupathy assured the association that he would take up the issue with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for necessary action. In a press release, the association’s president Sella Rajamani said that the sand quarries have remained closed for the past one and a half years. The association has been urging the State government to reopen the quarries, take steps to prevent overloading in lorries, and ensure that only the permissible maximum weight is transported. Additionally, the association has demanded a reduction in the prices of M-Sand, P-Sand, and gravel by quarry crusher owners. THE HAPUR district administration has withdrawn eviction notices issued to 41 Dalit families staying at Indra Nagar in Hapur’s Syana Choraha area, officials said on Friday.
