Tamil Nadu governor Rajendra Arlekar on Saturday approved the allocation of portfolios as recommended by the new chief minister, C. Joseph Vijay, days after the actor-turned-politician took the oath of office.
Thus, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government, which was formed after Vijay’s two-year-old party stunned almost everyone by emerging as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, is officially finalised.
According to the Lok Bhavan press release, Vijay will handle public administration, general administration, police, women and youth welfare, welfare of children, aged, differently abled persons, municipal administration, and urban and water supply.
