The makers of The Raja Saab have officially confirmed its sequel, titled The Raja Saab Circus 1935.

Prabhas’ much-anticipated horror-comedy The Raja Saab finally hit cinema halls on Friday, ahead of the Sankranthi festive weekend. Directed by Maruthi, the film generated massive excitement prior to its release, marking the Rebel Star’s grand return to theatres. Despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics, the film witnessed strong footfalls on its opening day, driven by loyal fans and robust pre-release buzz.

Thanks to solid advance bookings and extensive promotions, The Raja Saab managed to post a healthy opening at the box office. While it did not emerge as one of Prabhas’ biggest Day 1 earners, the numbers indicate a promising start, especially considering its genre and mixed word-of-mouth.

The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 1

On its first day, The Raja Saab earned Rs 45 crore at the box office. Including its pre-release business, the film’s total collection now stands at Rs 54.15 crore. The opening figures are considered strong for a horror-comedy and underline Prabhas’ continued pull at the box office, particularly in the Telugu-speaking regions.

The film features an ensemble cast alongside Prabhas, including Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role. Zarina Wahab, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar also play key parts. The presence of Sanjay Dutt added to the pre-release curiosity, with audiences eager to see him in a crucial character tied to the emotional core of the story.

The Raja Saab follows the story of a man living with his grandmother in a secluded village in Andhra Pradesh. Suffering from Alzheimer’s, Ganga Devi longs to reunite with her husband Kanakaraja, played by Sanjay Dutt, firmly believing that he is away on a mission. When Raja Saab comes across a man who resembles his grandfather, he sets out on a journey to reunite the elderly couple, leading to a mix of emotional moments and supernatural twists.

Sequel Confirmed

Despite the criticism, the makers have already confirmed a sequel, signalling confidence in the franchise’s potential. With the festive weekend ahead, all eyes are now on whether The Raja Saab can maintain momentum at the box office in the coming days.
