In an interview on Hailie Jade’s podcast, Just a Little Shady, Evan McClintock revealed that he sought Eminem’s blessing before proposing. During Hailie’s birthday party in December 2022, McClintock seized the opportunity to ask for Eminem’s approval. “I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today,’ ” he recalled. “So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and made it happen.”

Eminem has previously expressed his approval of Hailie’s relationship. In a 2020 interview with Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, he said, “She’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure.”
