The UP Warriorz’s Chinelle Henry smashed the joint fastest half-century in Women’s Premier League history during their clash against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The 29-year-old all-rounder smacked 62 off 23 deliveries as she bailed Warriorz out of trouble. She reached her half century off 18 deliveries, equaling Sophia Dunkley’s record from the inaugural season against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The Warriorz were struggling at 89/6 in the 14th over when Henry reached the crease.
She smacked eight sixes and two boundaries before falling prey to Jess Jonassen with the final ball of the innings.
Henry took a special liking to Arundathi Reddy, smashing the pacer for five sixes across two overs.
